What will happen in the next few years of pop?
Let's take a look at our current big pop girls: - Lady Gaga is in the middle of what could be the biggest era of her life. It looks that she will still be releasing singles and has yet to go on tour.
- Britney Spears looks like she's almost done with her career in general, let alone this era.
- Beyoncé is pregnant and will most likely take a few years off once she has her child.
- Katy Perry appears done with this era, and only time will tell if she can continue her success.
- Rihanna is preparing to re-release Loud, under the name LoudR (or some ****). She will most likely continue selling singles, and may even shift to being more of an album seller.
- Adele is coming off of one of the most successful eras for a female in a while, but no one is sure if she will have continued success after 21.
- Ke$ha is preparing a new album for next year. Looking at the sales of Cannibal, no one is quite sure if she will have the continued success of Animal.
Now, it appears that all we'll have left soon enough are Lady Gaga and Rihanna as our women of pop for a while. As we all know, this is usually when our pop leaders rotate.
I think that we could see these women becoming successful: - I could easily see Alexandra Stan becoming the next big singles artist/international act. Her songs are quite catchy, but they lack substance. "Mr. Saxobeat" could easily become the world's next big hit (it's already big in international markets), but I doubt Saxobeats will become big (are all the songs based off of the same concept?).
- Ellie Goulding could go all sorts of places in the US with the right promotion. She could also become a Lady Gaga/Adele of sorts by selling both singles and albums steadily.
- Wynter Gordon is picking up steam in the UK after going #1 in Australia. However, it was almost fatal to the beginnings of her career to release her album as a condensed EP in the US.
- Sky Ferreira has changed her sound. This could actually make her successful after seeing Adele's success. Her whole career is still up in the air (label, management, genre, etc.) though.
- Eva Simons has been picking up steam ever since the release of "Silly Boy." Her music was also spun at the Teen Choice Awards giving her that much more exposure. Her collaboration with Afrojack, "Take Over Control," also became a moderate hit.
- Much like Ellie, if Kimberly Wyatt, of the Pussycat Dolls, receives proper promotion she can become the most successful member of the group.
- If her music ever sees stateside, Nicola Roberts WILL become successful. She's been critically acclaimed her whole solo career.
- It may be too late in her solo career now, but Cheryl Cole still has a decent chance at becoming popular in the US if she receives proper management.
- I think a girl group will become successful in the US, since we are lacking one right now which is becoming uncommon in more recent years.
- I also believe a new girl will rise up and become very successful.
The musical genre of popular music has been dance-pop for the past few years. I don't think most pop music will stray away from dance in the next few years, but I do see it changing sub-genres from stereotypical electro to something else. I think house music or trance will become popular.
So, what do you think?

Just like Memoirs made us all fall back.
Anyway, I can say Eva Simons taking off, Ellie Goulding as well. I do see Pink having a great ccmeback, Britney not releasing ANY more albums, Ke$ha releasing successful singles, and possibly Jessie J becoming bigger worldwide.

- Madonna doesn't sell like she used to. That's mostly hindered by her age. She is also more of a "legend" than a "pop tart"
- Mariah Carey also doesn't sell like she used to. That's mostly hindered by her age which has taken a considerable effect on her voice. Much like Madonna she is also a legend, not a pop tart.
- Christina Aguilera has never necessarily been the "HBIC" and she's been on a decline ever since her debut album.
- P!nk has never been a large factor to the others in the US and I don't think she considers herself to be a pop tart.
- Shakira is successful internationally, but doesn't have much success stateside.
- Miley Cyrus won't be able to be successful, end of discussion.

she has 5 #1 songs. i think she will continue with her success.
Britney wont be done until she wants to be done. her fanbase still loves her.
I think gaga is already nearing indie territory. who knows if she will even continue to make pop

you need to fix that honey. mariah has been in the music industry for 20 something years, we know her voice isnt the same as it was in the 90s due to live performances. her voice have its good days and bad days. she is still one of the best singers that has ever lived on this earth

There's nothing to be fixed. Mariah's voice has been failing and there is no doubt that it has contributed to her poor sales.
