She's my first favorite singer when I was a child. I remember the days.

Even better than the regular version, it's just so magical. She's easily one of the best singers in the industry. She doesn't have the best pipes, but there's something about her delivery, you can tell that she feels the song. It's not only because of her distinctive voice, but also because of how sincere she is. Like in "Everytime," you can actually feel her pain. Range isn't and never was everything. I have no idea why they insist on heavily editing her vocals. Her vocals here > the over-belting by other contemporaries.

I get goosebumps in her delivery of the bum-bum-bum-bum lines, we need more songs like this.

But she has pipes and range to her voice.
It's still in there but she rarely uses it .

Still, you're right, she's the most underrated singer EVER.
No one can pull off pop songs like she does.

They're definitely damaged though. We can blame the smoking and the lack of practice for that.

The bridge and the last chorus slay my entire life. This song would be massive if they released this version. People would see her in a different way as well.

Its amazing.

Yes but not as much as people would like to think (see 2007 "Let Go" & "Baby Boy", for example).
In "He About To Lose Me" she sounds as clear as in her pre-jive days, she effortlessly reach D5 in "Inside Out" (and believe me, you can't reach these notes when you can't "sing") and "Don't Keep me waiting" contains some of her best vocals to date.

As far as the practice is concerned, she's reportedly singing all the time when she is at home and she sounds like an "angel". (Sam said that on twitter and I don't know why he would lie about that).

She also sings live on tour more than she has in, at least 10 years.
