Back in 2009, Oscar host Hugh Jackman dragged Anne Hathaway on stage for a sensational Frost/Nixon duet. Last February, Hathaway had to settle for a solo of “On My Own” from Les Miserables after Jackman, she joked, “bailed on [her] at the last minute.” Well, it looks like the two might be joining forces again soon. As BroadwayWorld.com reported last night, Anne Hathaway is in talks to join Jackman in a film adaptation of the Les Miserables musical. A spokesperson for the actress says that Hathaway is considering playing Fantine, the ill-fated mother of Cosette, opposite Jackman’s Jean Valjean. The King’s Speech‘s Tom Hooper is slated to direct.
In other Oscar-pairing non-news, Hathaway’s hypothetical Some Like it Hot project with James Franco remains a no-go.
I mean, this role actually sounds tailor-made for here. I can totally see her dirty as ****, trampled on by society, looking through those innocent Bambi-eyes of hers. I've yet to see her be amazing in anything, but I'll shut my mouth until it comes out. I think it's quite obvious she's gunning for an Oscar with this one if she does it.
I don't really believe that. She was a mess in Alice and I hope she will **** in the new Batman movie.
Gurl, i'm not here for 'Les Miserables' . However, my body is set and ready for Batman 3 and for Chris Nolan to slay my life. I will not have Ms.Hathaway take away the goodness of the film and ruin it. Her acting skills is *cough* satisfactory, but i will need her to put her body, sweat and tears into batman 3.
She Will. The movie will make a **** load of money at the box office.
Of course. The movie will be a box office hit. But will it be a hit because of Anne? I doubt it.

On the heels of the rumor that Emma Watson is up for the role of either Eponine or Cosette in upcoming film adaptation of Les Miserables, word is that Anne Hathaway is the latest leading lady in contention to play Fantine, a poor woman rescued by Valjean, who will be played by Hugh Jackman. Other ladies up for the role include Amy Adams and Rebecca Hall, but if we could play favorites for just a hot second, we want to see Anne do this so bad. Maybe if she can pull this off, that Judy Garland movie that was rumored like two years ago might actually take off!
Anne isn't the only A-lister being rumored to be up for big roles in this flick. We're also hearing that Russell Crowe may be up for the part of Officer Javert, Geoffrey Rush for Thenardier and Helena Bonaham Carter for Madame Thenardier.
