I agree, for the most part. That's why I've been loving the professions because you follow them and control the things they do for work.
But yeah, I was really upset with the way jobs were handled in TS3. They made such a big deal about how the TS3 would allow you to interact seamlessly with the world (no more load pages to get to community lots and whatnot), but they didn't fully realize that with the jobs. The sims still go to work, hide in a building for their shift and then come home. Jobs aren't the most interesting aspect of the game, but I really think they could have handled them in a way that tied into the whole
sims let loose into the world angle.
