This really isn't very official, I just really like statistics like this, so I thought I'd put together a few stats on the most-searched stars in the world this year. This includes how many searches are made on Google that are related to celebrities, musicians, politicians, etc. It just so happens that the most-searched are all musicians we are familiar with here.
As a bit of background, this data is based on Google searches. Google now handles queries from over 1 billion unique visitors each month and, according to statcounter, Google currently controls approximately 90% of the worldwide search market, making their most-searched far more accurate than any other search engine.
There is a radical difference between the search-relevancy of the top 3 most-searched. This difference quickly becomes smaller as you move down the list.
