Do the VMAs have major impact on the charts? I feel like no one cares that much, and those who do are already familiar w/ the music being performed.

After the show in '09, Paparazzi jumped 170% (172,165 vs. 63,673) and the album jumped 76% (33,255 vs. 18,857).
Maybe b/c a lot of people who'd been dismissive of Gaga truly "saw" her for the first time that night. Or maybe it's just good promo.

That performance made so many headlines!

-NO POINTLESS POSTS - it will be reported if it is pointless.
-NO COMPARING SONGS/ALBUMS/MV/OUTFITS/ETC. - One or two; maybe. 5 pages? No.
-DUMBASS-ERY WON'T BE TOLERATED - if you have a (dumb) question, take it to a wall or use your friend, Google.
The reason the server is so slow is because of the absurd amount of pointless posts.
I don't want to come off as an asshole, but BTW 2.0 really turned into a mess; so much, in fact, that most of us that used to post regularly stopped posting.
Thanks everyone.
Bump.

Considering she does an Amy rememberance duet, Brit tribute, You and I jazz and opening, it'll be good - I hope.

TBH, I think those were the effects of the viral clips and headlines about the performance that came in the following days.
I myself didn't watch/care about VMA in 2009, but saw the performance for the first time through some news.

Damn, no wonder they kept advertising her so prominently for this event...it's gonna be the Gaga performance show.

I think the performances themselves provide a significant impact(both positive and negative.)But because there's more than one person performing, it levels out the playing field.

Oh wait. I'm not sure if actually all that was confirmed.
You and I jazz I have no idea, but considering there's promo for it?
Maybe it'll be Medley with You and I jazz and then HML/GH mashup.

How do you know she does all that?
Edit: Nevermind.

If she's in the Brit tribute, she'll truly be in basically every important performance of the show
