I think there are 3 different types of sampling...
Songs that sample other songs to much, so they almost sound like the sampled song Example: Run The World
Songs that really don't need a sample... Examples: Drowned World/Substitute For Love (samples Why I Follow The Tigers -- but only one line... Was this really necessary?), Cheers (Avril sounds like a lunatic... The sample is annoying as ****.)
Songs that feature good sampling
Example: Fading (The song sounds good without the sample, but the original version with the Enya sample slays!)
Sampling can be the most amazing thing, when done properly.
But I really want someone to push the boundaries or sampling. For example, we have songs that sample multiple tracks, and we have songs that sample songs that were comprised of samples, but I want it to go deeper. I want someone to use a sample, of a track that used a sample, of another track that used a sample, and so on and so forth. I'd also love if, for example, someone were to sample two different songs for one track, however the songs that were sampled were comprised of samples from at least two different songs, meaning that the most recent track would be sampling something like 6+ different tracks all at once.
