Cheers is from Loud. It's going to promote the album sure, but there's so many ****ing factors into it that make Cheers a TERRIBLE single to rely on to promote Loud R on it's stupid.
1) It's from LOUD WITH NO R. We need a SONG FROM LOUD R to promote Loud R.
2) If Cheers is to promote Loud R, it has 2 weeks to smash radio (and I mean get near its peak and STAY THERE), release its music video, and maintain a spot in the top 5 on iTunes to really get the exposure that Loud R needs.
3) Going off of #2, if we got a new single, we could make it 10x easier since people already have Loud thus already have Cheers, including the people that have already bought Cheers on iTunes. We could get more sales and faster exposure and buzz if Rihanna gets a NEW song out.
4) If we got a new song for a single to promote it, that would mean obviously it would take more time for the single and album to be released, then she could give it some hype and promote it a bit instead of just winging it.
Def Jam can't plan a ****ing era to save their life.
