The Worst Pop Acts in History
Most of the world may still be suffering from a bad case of Bieber Fever, but the readers of NME magazine are apparently cured. In an ongoing poll ranking "the worst pop acts in history" on the UK magazine’s website, Biebz is currently topping the list.
Readers are being asked to rank pop acts on a scale of 1-10 (1 being “Just about tolerable,” 10 being “Spawn of Satan”). Bieber is currently at the top of the heap with a dismal average rating of 8.61, beating out Rebecca Black, Paris Hilton and Ashlee Simpson.
The pint-sized pop star may have a few haters across the pond, but will.i.am has his tiny back. The Black Eyed Peas singer recently told Radio Disney he thinks the 17-year-old could be the next King of Pop.
"I was with Justin Bieber in the studio two days ago, working on his new album, and we had a really great conversation," he revealed.
"Justin Bieber could be like Prince. Justin Bieber could be like Michael Jackson where his career is like, 'Wow! [It’s] 2030, Justin Bieber, your career is so long. You’re the first artist to be broadcasted to Mars. How do you feel about that?' Justin Bieber could be that dude."
Biebz may still have to win over NME readers before claiming the pop throne, but he’s gaining street cred – or, at the very least, an actual street. 11-year-old Caroline Gonzalez of Forney, Texas recently won the opportunity to be her town’s mayor for a day, and she used her power to rename a street Justin Bieber Way.
"I like his music and I like him,” Gonzalez told E!Online. “And I thought, why not have a street in my hometown named after my favorite singer?"
