They're not talents, they're skills. I would only call those things "talents" if there was something exceptional about them but in GaGa's case, there's not.

And everyone knows GaGa is winning the popularity contest by a mile right now. You mentioned artists that have been dominating select territories, while GaGa is ubiquitous and the most conspicuous pop star these days.

Just because you have the capacity to learn something does not mean you can do well in this field. Gaga is doing pretty well in her multiple feats, which is why she gets the recognition that she does.

Both can be either, and it's silly to deny that Gaga has innate talent, at any rate. She quickly picked up piano at an early age, and all the vocal lessons in the world won't mean anything if you're naturally tone deaf and have a non-existent instrument.

I just don't think she's demonstrated anything so far in her career to support such a bold statement from Tony Bennett. It doesn't necessarily mean she won't prove me wrong at some point in time.
