I'm going to say it now. I am a REALLY LATE fan. I only cared for "Can't Speak French" for a year. Then started getting into Cheryl's "Fight for the Love" and "Parachute"( face it the rest of her songs are crap minus"Yeah Yeah" off MLR"). Then started getting to their albums. Nicola is my favorite now because of her solo material.
On that note: THEY BETTER ****ING SLAAAY. Also they better start writing their own stuff now. I'm excited

Bitch, you will sit and spin. Mikal and I have been loving Girls Aloud here for eight years.
Don't get cut gal. You can be the Duchess.
Acey, gurl, I like to keep a low profile 'round here, so you're probably unaware that I am the one and only queen.
But I'm willing to compromise. We can be an oligarchy, 'kay?

DUB ME, DUB ME!
I can't wait to see my darling Cheryl reunited with the girls. I read somewhere they were planning a performance of some sort during the opening ceremonies of the 2012 Olympic games in London. Speculation?!
Welcome to the order, sis. Yeah, I heard the Olympic thing as well, that would be amazing.
So, which of their songs do you think their comeback single should sound like? Of course, it will be totally fresh, but I wouldn't say no to something in the scheme of Something Kinda Ooooh.
If it sounds like Sexy No No No, The Promise, Call The Shots,or really any of their amazing singles I'll be happy! I think Untouchable is really underrated but I think they need something with a little more sass.
Have y'all heard/watched these? They sound amazing, and Nadine isn't even there (for The Promise).
Y'know what? Sarah gets such a bad rap. I know I've contributed to it, but that's beside the point. Her tone is, nine times out of ten, terrible - but when she gets it right, she REALLY gets it right. On The Promise, she ALWAYS gets it right. Truly the second best voice in the group.

So true. I was shocked when I listened to these. Usually her voice is so abrasive and shrieky but she sounds great here.

Sarah's voice is great, I honestly think so. Especially in Stand By You. But I think Nicola (as of late, at least) gets it right far more than she does. In the past, Sarah was better though.
No, I mean technically - not in terms of subjective things like tone. Technically, Sarah is the second best singer. And, fyi - she actually has the highest belting range in the group - NONE of the others can do what she does on The Promise.

True that! Her adlibs Nadine's range is surprisingly limited, I was rather disappointed to hear how raspy she got on her higher belts on Insatiable. Sarah's voice can be very pretty too, like when she, Cheryl, and Nicola (I think it was Nicola...) sang Stand By You all those years ago, Sarah was singing so softly. Sometimes I wish they'd had her hold back a little instead of Nicola.

I dunno. I mean, I love me some Nicola but her voice kind of grates on my nerves, almost as much as Sarah's does. It's very nasal and theatrical. She'd do really well on Broadway, I think. And for Sarah -- yes, she can usually belt higher but I rarely think it sounds good. It usually sounds like she's wailing in a really high pitch but without any subtlety or control. It's like she only has one volume, and that's loud. There's no reigning it in with her, except for in the very rare instances like the performances above. She's like Jessica Simpson: a lot of power, but little technique. I think Nadine has almost as much range, but infinitely better control. I think the falsetto she does in all the live performances of The Promise--when she sings "nothing at all that I cannot do"--is right up there with anything Sarah does on the song.
The one that actually shocked me the most was Kimberley. People act like she can't carry a tune in a bucket, but she really has a beautiful tone and vibrato, especially when she's singing softly or in her head voice. She doesn't have the power that Nadine, Sarah, or even Nicola have but her vocals are very pretty.
Thank God, as I'm getting so tired of dubstep. Not to mention the fact that dub has absolutely saturated the UK music scene so I bet you're doubly correct.
Their music is always ahead of the game, they wont be doing dubstep, they will be doing something experimental.
Yes please. They need to work with Xenomania forever and always.
