I think this is true to some extent. Gaga is kind of a fame monster that eats up all publicity, negative or positive, though. I think more people seeing a human side of her might be a good thing, whether she's a great host or not.
Edit: Plus, I think if she is host, she might poke fun at her own outlandishness, which might be a good thing.
