She doesn't want to aim to be skinny. If she somehow lost weight, that's fine.
I'm sure she attempts to stay healthy, but she's not going to do a Jennifer Hudson.

People should be buying her music and not giving a **** about what she looks like.
Any extras that may come to her career if she were skinnier, she obviously doesn't care about.

Physical attractiveness will always play a considerable role within the industry, and yet it also seems we've entered an era in which our interest in emerging pop acts is less focused on beauty. I won't go as far as to say that traditional prerequisites of a pretty face and a hot body are on the way out, but I think labels now seem more inclined to cultivate talented acts who may not deliver in the looks department, and many up-and-comers, realizing that they may not have the prototypical physical attributes of a pop star, are putting more effort into other facets of the job in the hopes that they can distract us from the fact that they just aren't THAT good looking. It's worked really well for some. A lot of the new generation pop stars may lack traditional good looks, but they've manufactured eccentric personas for entertainment purposes, done ~~stupid~~ bold things with fashion, and seem to be invested in visual spectacle for the purpose of elevating performances/videos. Very few people seem to be complaining that pop music hasn't produced a legitimate "sexy girl" in at least half a decade. We don't miss the "sexy girls" just yet, but there will come a time for another Britney Spears.
