They kind of did already. There's an MTV channel that only plays music.

The biggest issue is that these reality shows are garnering them high ratings. So many people like to rant about how Music Television isn't actually about the music anymore. However, when you have a large amount of people tuning in to watch these reality TV shows such as Jersey Shore and Teen Mom it sends a different message to the ones in charge. They are here for whatever is making them the most profit. Unfortunately, the music shows just aren't cutting it.
) Instead of atleast giving artists specials, Now i understand that Nicki, Gaga, Britney and Beyonce have had their little 1 hour (if that) specials. EBT's 106 and park is not cutting it since TRL always shat on it. MTV needs to step it the **** back up and cut the ********. Do they even do springbreak specials anymore where artist come and perform? I know it was always shows and music but shows have taken over MTV alot more with less music influence on the channel nowadays.
