Don't worry Red, you made a good decision & kept the ones I wanted the most.
Also.. Rate The Custom User Title was here before the trend as well, please open it back up? It started February 26th of this year.

Fair enough, thy will be done.
We're already getting pretty close to overkill again, though. We now have these threads open:
Rate the Member (Duca)
Rate the Member (Chemist)
Rate the Signature
Rate the Avatar
Rate the Voice
Rate the Custom User Title
And if (or when) Bart re-opens the Basicness thread, that'll be seven. I think that's definitely pushing it.

Besides, Avatar, Signature and Member (both incarnations) have been around since before the "Rate the..." trend began, hence why they were kept and the others were closed. As for Voice? There was more demand to keep that one around than the others not already mentioned, so it was kept open. And like I said, people are MORE THAN WELCOME to make cases to reopen some of the threads that have been closed.
Truthfully, I don't like when either scenario happens, because it's just another way for other people to push up their post count. This is why Remeese's posts make me happy, because he's not necessarily just posting numbers. He's also making comments just about every time he posts in these threads...which is what these threads SHOULD be about.

Wasn't there a place for these rate the whatever threads before? As they are games, maybe we could have a subsection under the games section for all these Rate the whatevers, ATRL's next whatevers, Challenges, Musical Chairs and all non-survivor games.

I have to agree all the ones who said CHEMIST's rate the member thread is better than DUCA'S. You should reopen that thread!

Going down from 200000 to 6 or 7 isn't really that bad. We started out with 4 anyway.. so if it's that bad then I guess we should just stick with the same 4 we had a long time ago. But I like Rate The Voice, but we don't need two Rate The Member threads.

Hmm. Don't ever recall there being a place for these kinds of threads before, exactly, but it's an interesting idea, because it IS a game, if only a different one than the others.
You've given me something to think about. Let me get back to you.

Don't put them in Games.
They will become irrelevant by then.

Yes, I remember back in 2009/2010, when the polls section was a subforum of Games, you had the option to create such 'Rate The ...' threads on there. I remember that idea was pretty innovative to give some feedback to ATRLers;in fact, I remember posting there a lot, haha. Based on that, it wouldn't be that bad if you add them on the Polls section.
On the other hand ( and I agree with both supa and you with this ) is that now they don't lead anywhere, it is just writing numbers from 1 to 10 and that's it.

Exactly. As I mentioned, I think the 'Rate the ...' threads actually have potential to write feedback about what it's being 'rated', but this is not implied on the title, and as long as it is not a requirement, a large amount of people will continue with the trend of only writing numbers.
I remember, for example, that sticks made a thread about "What do you think of *insert ATRL member here*" http://atrl.net/forums/showthread.php?t=96888 as a way to give feedback to ATRLers. And I think that thread was way more useful, than a 'Rate The Member' thread. We all can post numbers, but very few can actually explain the reasons why we are giving that number.

Well, exactly. But the fact that they offer almost nothing in the way of interesting discussion makes them even less suited for The Lounge. If you're going to keep them open, I think they should really go somewhere else or they'll just continue to provide a lot of clutter.

I think 'Rate The Beauty' should've been left open, it inspired conversation and Cheap posted the averages that the gerls scored so it was kept interesting.
I intended to do the same with my flawless 'Rate The Male Model', but it flopped anyway so best leave it locked.

Get rid of those that are unnecessary and keep the ones that have been going around for a while like Rate The Member and Rate The Avatar.

I think my rate the beauty thread should be reopened, it was a cute, harmless thread, with beautiful pictures of all our faves.
Also it was gonna get really interesting with the gerl i chose after lindsay.

That's a hot mess waiting to happen. The Poll section is already cluttered with filth.
