ove over Jay-Z and Kanye West, here come Lil Wayne and Drake. While Hov and Yeezy have pretty much dominated the hip-hop conversation this week with the release of their collaborative Watch the Throne, Cash Money CEO Bryan "Birdman" Williams took it up a notch when he confirmed on Friday (August 12) that Weezy and Drizzy Drake will also be joining forces on an upcoming project.
"Wayne and I recently talked about [the Weezy/Drake collabo album]," Baby told with XXLmag.com. "That's definitely going to get done."
Birdman is himself no stranger to joint LPs: In 2006, the #1 Stunna shared billing with Wayne on their Like Father, Like Son album. Now, in 2011, the tag-team trend appears to be gaining even more traction. Eminem and Royce Da 5'9" got together as Bad Meets Evil on their Hell: The Sequel EP in June. Of course, there's Jay and 'Ye's Throne, which dropped this week, as did Gucci Mane and Waka Flocka Flame's Ferrari Boyz LP.
Back in January, during a radio interview with the U.K.'s Tim Westwood, Drake spoke on his plans to work with Wayne on a joint project. "We still got to do that album," he said. "I heard some other guys are coming out with an album too. There's two other rappers that are coming out with an album together. ... I don't know where they got that idea but. ..."
I actually like Drake. He's one of my favs. I used to like Lil Wayne, but not so much anymore. He's just a big autotuned mess. If they do this, I hope it's more Carter II Lil Wayne and not ReBirth Lil' Wayne.
although it should be good they should not do it! C'mon! let's be original! Ye and Jay are doing it... go try something else!
And Birdman said that it would be the young againts the old. Lil'Wayne and Drake are the new ones dominating the game and Jay-Z is the old one about to leave the game...
How stupid is he??? Get a career! Lejaynd-Z ain't going no where and he's still raping the game after all these year...
