I've always thought that reading posts on ATRL... About 70% of members are posting the same old same old.

There's some great members here though, which the forum wouldn't be the same without.

I think it is the young mentality in here. You're young, you want to fit in. Especially the new members. Everyone has a different motive on why they join ATRL. I remember when I was a new member I tried to be well -known in here. But once you're here for so long you just don't give a **** anymore.

As you can see, I don't follow trends. I don't post gifs , I don't type in ATRL lingo, I don't kiss ass and I don't dick ride people and I come up with OWN ideas and threads for ATRL. I don't care about the popularity in here because it DOESN'T LAST FOREVER. You're at your peak at the moment then you're done. That's how forums work. Then a whole new group of members join and become popular. I remember I was at my peak in here back 2007/2008. Now I try be low key in here. Another thing about Internet popularity is that you start to get overly exposed and you start get haters.

I'd rather be myself and hold my own opinions that people don't agree with than agree with everything a certain person or certain people say.

Completely agree. The new fad word this month seems to be "book" now that two members said it half of the forum seems to use it in every other post.

It's the same people following really about four main people in each thread repeating and quoting everything they say to get noticed on the internet.

Yeah, this has been going on since before YOU were here, and you've been here for three years.

The fact of the matter is that people look to those who are popular or recognizable and follow their lead instead of thinking for themselves and being themselves. This has been going on since the forum began, really, and it's not really ever going to change, regardless of how many people speak up and agree about the subject. Hell, I've made efforts to try to tell people to be themselves more than once, and it inspired maybe *one* person to change their persona back to their own.

Hell, I'd make the argument that every single mod on ATRL today wouldn't have ever become a mod if they weren't themselves.
