Christina was way bigger than Gaga during their debut.

Xtina sold 8 million in the US alone while Gaga sold 5 million
Xtina won a Grammy during her First year, Gaga didn't.
Xtina had 3 number 1 singles, Gaga only had 2.
Globally, Xtina sold 17 million albums.

Xtina may not be on the top right now but don't deny her greatness during her debut.

Xtina's debut wasn't innovative either. She was clawing after Britney's sloppy seconds.

What do you expect with debuts? Since from the word itself, you cannot expect all artist to be innovative at the on set of their careers.

You can't compare 1999 sales to 2008 sales...

Gaga's album was released 9/10 years later so of course it wont sell the same. 5 million in 2009/10 is easily equavilent to 8 million in 1999/2000.
Lady Gaga received 2 grammy's in her 2nd year while Christina received none.
Lady Gaga had 4 smashes and PF and JD are two of the bestselling songs in the US and the world.
Lady Gaga sold 15 million (possibly more) and even though a lot of thats because of a re-release no other artist could acheive this success in the digital age while several artists acheived and out did Christina's success so stop the delusion.

What are you talking about? If your referring to the grammys in Gaga's 2nd year. They were for her debut album so are hence relavent. I'd also like to add Gaga started trends while Christina followed them.

GaGa of course. Christina's debut was a poor man's version of Brit's debut. GaGa did change what was acceptable on pop radio with her debut. Thanks to GaGa, electronica music became mainstream. Thinking back to the music charts before GaGa (2007, 2008), Miley Cyrus was probably the biggest female popstar at the moment (please don't make me remember those dark times). Rihanna had just smashed with GGGB but that was more urban than electronica.

While it would take years for Christina to differentiate herself from her peers, from the get go Lady GaGa stood out among everyone else in the business and changed the way the game is played.

I think Gaga did, honestly. Xtina has had more success obviously, but Gaga had more attention brought upon her faster. Don't be delusional because you hate Gaga.
