Remember the music business is a BUSINESS. Whatever it takes to sell a single or cd they will do it. Are we being manipulated - of course. That's what advertizing and sales are about - manipulating us to buy what is being sold. In this case we are being sold Adele, Rihanna, Beyonce , Gaga , Britney, Katy etc. As a consumer you can reject what is being sold. When that happens another newer singer /songwriter will be put out for sale.
