The double standard regarding bleaching and tanning is a conversation i've had before. I think what it all comes down to is that a european asthetic is what's portrayed as "most beautiful", so it's acceptable to go against that superficial norm. However, when your look is perceived as inferior it's seen as an insecurity if you do anything to try to escape it, as opposed to embracing it... The wieird way society works
