"4" is not really noncommercial. I love it, but you make it seem like it's an indie album, for God's sake. "Best Thing I Never Had," "Party," "Start Over," "Countdown," "End Of Time," and "Run The World" are all extremely radio-friendly tracks.
Just because they're underperforming (even though "Best Thing I Never Had" seems to be a sleeper hit) doesn't make them noncommercial.
I didn't mean to say that ''4'' is an indie album because it isn't. But ''4'' is not really commercial, the sound of it is not really what's hot right now. So if you look at the whole album you can tell that it isn't that radio-friendly. ''Countdown'', ''End of Time'' and ''Best Thing I Never Had'' are radio-friendly. But there are still like 10 tracks left on the album if you don't count those six you mentioned. That means that the majority of the album isn't radio-friendly = the album is not really that commercial you think it is.
Not exactly like 4, In fact only bey can make an album with such strong vocals.
But it is clear that nobody's here for danceney anymore, so she should make a 180º change in her musical style, We want innovativeney again, the same girl that brought us masterpieces like In The Zone and Blackout. Those albums were innovative because they were ahead of its time and didn't sound like anything in the radio at that time. Sure Blackout underperformed but it was because of her problems.
In order to bring innovativeney back, she needs to get control of her life and music again and I don't see that happen anytime soon
Actually I want a more edgy, less dance oriented Blackout (A album full of Why SHould I Be Sad's ). Fire Dr Luke, let Max Martin produce only 1 song, but not like IWG or Up N DOwn, more like Criminal and let Danja/William Orbit/Jewel/Darkchild produce it
Not exactly like 4. Britney wouldn't be able to deliver the kind of vocal's Bey does. But if you mean less radio friendly and more of what Britney want's to put into a album then sure. It would probable flop though but oh well at least she would be taking risk's and be more experimental with her music. And people wouldn't say she's being safe. I really am afraid she will still work with Dr Luke & Max Martin again. I want her to do more song's like Let Go, Baby Boy, Rebellion, and basically deeper vocal's on her song's and I want her to avoid using the baby voice.
It was. However, the original concept for the album was to include many mid-tempos and tracks with a harder/rock edge. This was Britney's idea and she wrote nearly the entire album before they decided to go in a different direction. Jive even let her start recording some songs, but they didn't really like how it was turning out, and then finally, they felt uncomfortable with the album as it was, so they decided to go in a completely new direction. They wanted something more conventional, something more radio-friendly. "He About To Lose Me" and "Don't Keep Me Waiting" represent the original vibe of the album the most. She even collaborated with William Orbit, but absolutely nothing they did together made the final cut, which resulted in his breakdown on Twitter.
Most of the album was put together in late 2010. After changing the direction, she started recording in very late 2010 with Dr. Luke. "Till The World Ends," "Hold It Against Me," "Inside Out," "(Drop Dead) Beautiful," "Seal It With A Kiss," and "Gasoline," were all recorded prior to the end of 2010. The reason why we got the cover and the track-listing so late was the fact that they had finished the album in February 2011. (In addition, one of the reasons why she didn't promote "Hold It Against Me," besides her usual laziness, was the fact that she was still recording the album.) She was working on the album since 2009, and three songs from the 2009 sessions made the cut: "I Wanna Go," "Criminal," and the deluxe bonus, "Up N' Down."
I hope that we will get the album in its original form one day.
You know what I would just LOVE Britney to do? Songs like Amnesia. Like, better than Amnesia, but that type of Swedish bubble pop where it has her singing without autotune and doing sass rather than sex kitten. It would be unexpected to a degree and could make some really fun music
Maybe Britney should take time off and come back in 2 or 3 years with a bang. I think she just needs time to clear her head a bit. She should do what she wants to do, take some time to be inspired and be creative. Work with who she wants, create what she wants. It's obvious now that her sons > music, the way it should be. I'd rather things stay like this - moderately successful album, good mother. She doesn't need to be putting out groundbreaking material and lacking in the motherhood department. I'm proud of her priorities.
I love Britney, but she would make Rebecca Black sound like Mariah Carey if she ever went down that road. She needs to stick with what she does best, because that is what is keeping her alive in the music industry right now.
The vocals on 4 are what make it really amazing, Brit couldnt make an album like 4.

Im not asking if she should release an album full of urban songs and rule out pop songs. I just mean since 4 is the album that "Beyonce" wanted to make not her label. Commercial or not.
Would you like to see Britney release a more mature album like 4? With more heartfelt ballads like everytime, someday and maybe even featuring a few songs of different genres like ITZ.
Im curious as to what she'll do with her next album, which is why im asking the question
