Britney was extremely talented when she started off, she was much more than just a pretty face.

Britney had a huge debut with BOMT and she initiated this new pop by teen girls.

Recently her success comes mostly from her huge FANBASE from 1999-2004 and because some of her singles are still catchy. That's it!

You said the only reason she's still successful is because she has catchy singles. Britney is undeniably on her way to being a legend and she has more than catchy singles to propel her to that status. She has to have more than just catchy singles to have so much longevity and to be nearing legendary status.

Not every girl with just a pretty face can give what she could give on stage and/or in her videos. Even with playback she could run the stage + good pop music + her charisma + a "something" that not many popstars have and that makes people be interested in her.

That and the fact she has a huge following. What has she done recently to attract new fans with the exception of her catchy singles(which haven't attract many new fans I reckon)?

I actually think that Britney's pretty-girl basic appearance has been a factor in making her career happen. If Gaga did the exact same thing as Britney at the same age at the start of her career with the exact same songs, image etc. I don't think she would have found success like Britney.
