People don't remember albums. Unless it's a very important album such as ABBA's Gold. People remember songs and videos. The most important thing is a solid chart run AND having more than 1 successful album. Spanning several hit songs, albums and tours in your career.

That is pretty much bollocks and GOLD was a greatest hits compilation so...not a studio album.
Albums that have been remembered and INCREDIBLY culturally influential in their own right and not just due to the success of the artist...
The Beatles - Abbey Road
The Beatles - Sgt Peppers Lonely Hearts Club Band
Michael Jackson - Thriller
Nirvana - Nevermind
Madonna - Ray of Light
Britney Spears - ...Baby One More Time
The Beach Boys - Pet Sounds
Bruce Springsteen - Born to Run
The Velvet Underground - The Velvet Underground and Nico
Joni Mitchell - Blue
The Rolling Stones - Sticky Fingers
John Lennon - Imagine
Prince and the Revolution - Purple Rain
Pink Floyd - The Wall
Radiohead - OK Computer
& **** tons more, but yeah obviously albums are never remembered.
