Papers were never signed and promo pics were never taken; she was in it, but not really. Britney did Justin's mom a favor by entertaining the idea for a week and then bounced because Larry was hired by her mom to get the job done for a solo career.
Fun fact: Britney first signed with Boyz II Men's record label, Stonecreek Productions at the age 14 years old in 1994. The label collapsed in '97 and soon afterward, Britney entertained the idea of joining "Innosense." Britney declined the offer after thinking about it and started working on her first album not too long after.
