Not SRC, She Left Universal Motwon. She's Now on Universal Republic
Quote:
It’s now official that Shontelle has made a change in record labels. In the wake of label drama and media buzz surrounding the sinking of Universal Motown, she has left and moved over to Universal Republic – joining the roaster of successful artist such as Jessie J, Enrique Iglesias, Florence & The Machine, Colbie Caillt and more. (Shontelle is now signed to SRP/SRC/Universal Republic)

The Wrap: ” Meanwhile, on or around July 1, Antonio “L.A.” Reid will resurface atop Sony Music Entertainment’s Epic Records. The move has been widely speculated since March, when Reid — a judge this fall on the music competition TV show “X Factor” — vacated the chairmanship of Island Def Jam.
L.A Reid was followed out the door by pioneering black executive Sylvia Rhone, who exited as CEO of Motown. Their departures were part of an ongoing management shakeup under Lucian Grainge, new corporate boss at Universal Music Group, which owns both labels. “
Billboard Biz: ” In the wake of Sylvia Rhone’s departure from Universal Motown last month, Universal Motown Republic Group and Island Def Jam Music Group today announced a new centralized back-office structure and a “mandate to dramatically increase artist investments across its labels.”
“While UMRG and IDJMG will continue to function as two independent label groups, they will now benefit from the centralization of select back-office functions that include legal, finance international and digital,” the statement continues. At press time, the departure of Universal Motown Senior Vice President of Media Relations Margeaux Rawson had been confirmed; at least 20 other staffers were reportedly let go, the Hollywood Reporter stated that the departments hit included legal, finance, digital, publicity and A&R administration. “
Well this is nice. But MusicTalker is right....Take Ova would have SMASHED harder than Impossible. It would help Shontelle get back on the "scene". Sad songs or ballads aren't going to help her out, even if they're good.
She needs an uptempo, fast-beated, party song. She should call in Pitbull again for another colloraboration. That would be perfect.

Yeah, i think she wasn't able to release Take Ova and had to release Say Hello to goodbye because Pitbull was working on his new album at the Perfect Nightmare time and it was released and he was promoting it around the SHTGB time so it might mean he didn't approve or something so they wouldn't clash with each other. and she was working on the No Gravity re-release with Universal Motown but since she left i think she had to start from scratch or something.
But, I Do Agree! she needs to get Pitbull again for a collab <3
