Kelly Osbourne and Mark Ronson were among the 150 guests who attended Amy Winehouse's funeral Tuesday at Edgwarebury Cemetery in north London. Another man was also mourning: singer and moviemaker Reg Traviss, who had been dating the British soul singer up until her untimely death at age 27 on July 23 (a cause of death has yet to be determined)..
The day before, a grim-faced Traviss was photographed alongside Amy's father, Mitch Winehouse, looking at floral tributes left outside the singer's Camden Square home where her body was discovered..
Traviss "helped her with her problems," Amy's father told People magazine. "Amy was looking forward to their future together.".
So, who was he? There's not a lot of information out there about Traviss, but here's what we know. .
Winehouse and Traviss went public with their relationship last June. They were photographed holding hands and seen kissing in London's Mayfair district..
Traviss is a respected film director on the rise, with three British works to his credit. In June he released "Screwed," a movie about a former prison guard's experiences working in life-threatening U.K. institutions. His other titles include 2010's "Psychosis," a horror film about a serial killer, and 2006's "Joy Division," a drama about a teenage orphan soldier who fights in WWII..
Traviss's clean-cut and professional demeanor was a major contrast to Winehouse and her troubled ex-husband, Blake Fielder-Civil. Fielder-Civil is now serving a 32-month jail sentence for possession of a firearm and burglary, and is credited with introducing Winehouse to drugs..
Traviss had received the approval of Winehouse's father. In a July 2010 interview with Scottish TV program "The Hour," the elder Winehouse said Traviss received "thumbs-up from Dad," and referred to him as a nice guy..
Though Winehouse and Traviss reportedly had an on and off relationship, Winehouse's father said his daughter felt good about life at the time of her passing..
"Knowing she wasn't depressed, knowing she passed away happy -- it makes us all feel better," he said in a statement released to People. "She was the happiest she has been for years.".
I'm really glad she was feeling great when she died. Gives a little bit of closure.
It's sad that when she was depressed and wanted life to end, it never did and when finally she was happy, it all ended. Life sucks and **** man, she should of been allowed live that happiness. I knew she was doing good **** this. Life is ****!
It makes this whole thing even more bittersweet, if you know what I mean. It's really sad that, when she finally became really happy, she passed away. But at the same time, I'd rather her be happy and than depressed. It still doesn't justify her death for me in any way, though.
