A GAY couple who met at Britney Spears' [epic] Burswood Dome concert in 2009 have traveled to the US to thank the star for bringing them together.

Love blossomed at the Circus show between Canning Vale resident Julian Kiraga and George Kellis, who visited Perth from Adelaide to attend the performance. After a long-distance romance, Kiraga eventually moved to Adelaide to be with Kellis.

Last night the couple met Spears backstage at her Femme Fatale Tour in Cleveland, Ohio.

“She only had nice things to say about Australia and she loved the story of how we met at her show,” said Kiraga.

“She was very supportive when we told her how we are waiting to be able to get married in Australia, because same-sex marriage isn't legal.”

The couple say if gay marriage is legalised, they will use their photo with the “stunning” singer on their wedding invitation.

“Britney performed the whole show live and sounded flawless. We both commented on how much more interactive and alive she was with the crowd this time around.”

The boys are also the proud owners of a tour t-shirt stained with Spears’ sweat and stage makeup, that Kariga caught when she threw it into the crowd.
