Yeah, but where's the stupid? Interviewers ask her about Amy, and what's she supposed to say? "I didn't know her, so I have no thoughts on the matter." I'm sure that would go over wonderfully.

IMO it seems a bit contrived especially the whole "when i was a nobody ... " anecdote just seems like she making it about herself.

Other celebrities are being more respectful and just offering condolences.

GaGa has a talent for giving the press a good quote or story to go with a popular topic or event. Im so sick of EVERYTHING relating back to GaGas struggle through life and trying to make it in New York. SHUT UP GIRL YOU WERE A GOGO DANCER!!!

That's fine, what I took issue with is you claiming that she's "running to the media" about it. As far as I know she hasn't brought Amy up herself beyond releasing a statement the next day.

And at any rate, it's more of a tribute to an artist to illustrate what their impact on others may have been rather than just saying "well that's unfortunate that she died."

I can't say to what degree Amy did or didn't inspire Gaga personally, but either way she's recognizing that Amy's success was inspirational to others.

What the **** at all this close criticism. She may not have articulated it the best, but the genuine thought and feeling was there. That's all that matters.

I hope GaGa makes it through this difficult time. She is such a survivor, just like when she was a struggling artist in New York City trying to pay her bills by singing in nightclubs.

The interviewer asked her a question, so she answered it. She was just relating her experience to Amy's legacy. It's not like she went on a tangent about it.
