It's exactly how I feel. I still held out hope that she'd get better.
I hate her life had to be cut so short, she really could have made a big impact with the next album but her work that she leaves behind will stand the test of time.
Wow, I'm stunned but at the same time, I'm not. I don't know. I had so much hope that she would eventually get better. She had so much potential and such a beautiful voice, and it's a shame that it's now too late.
I remember recently showing my friend that video of her performing on YouTube where she was apparently drugged up or drunk, and we had a whole discussion about it, and I truly hoped that she would get back on her feet.
Can't say I'm too surprised but I was really hoping she would get it together and release her 3rd album. I'll never forget when I heard "You know I'm no good" before school one morning and was wondering "who is THIS?" before she blew up. The B2B album was a tad overrated but a good piece of work, overall. R.I.P
I am somewhat devasted with these news I can't believe it, I love Amy Winehouse so much, I can't believe she is gone... can't believe she "made her own bed" . The world is thankful to her for sure, she def made one big impact, she was incredibly talented and her Back To Black album was phenomenal.
It's disturbing that people feel so comfortable being unsympathetic or even as heartless to say a person deserved to die whEn drugs are the cause. Most of us do things that may increAse our chance at death yet we separate them from the human who committed them. Driving fast, smoking, drinking alcohol Being the more cOmmon, though we ignore them because either we do them ourselves or we've deemed them "normal"... Drug addicts are people to.
I don't believe anyone said she deserved to die. What has been said is that it's not surprising or that people saw it coming. The general consensus is that her death is incredibly sad and much before her time but she was also very self-destructive.
Stop playing the "who deserves sympathy" game. There's always someone who's had a harder life, grew up in worse conditions. Nobody's excusing the drug addiction, but there's no reason to act like there should only be a limited supply of sympathy doled out to only the most "deserving" candidates.
