America. You got to love how biased and selfish it is.

So Friday afternoon I get to MSN, seems normal. I browse the Top 5 news articles through those main pictures and eventually, in the last one, I see the article about the bombing/shootings in Norway with a lot of people dead. It's almost like a terrorist attack.

So today, I found out on Facebook Amy died. What do I do? Go to MSN. And imagine this. BREAKING HEADLINES, AMY WHINEHOUSE IS DEAD, MORE TO COME...(in that RED banner thing on the top, can't miss it?)

And here I am shaking my head.

So a part of our history, part of Norway's history, doesn't get breaking headlines, but a singer does? RIP AMY but where is this world going too? Why does ONE person have more impact on our society than a bombing/shooting in Norway?

I find this messed up and I'm sure JT will too. This is why people think America is dumb.

Instead of pitting two unrelated tragic incidents against each other, make a thread for one.

I get exactly where you're coming from, it is ********, but this is a textbook case of bad timing.

As sad as it is. Terrorist attacks are part of our (almost) everyday life. They shock me. But I can't break out in tears everytime they happen. As sad as that is.

Now Amy Winehouse influenced my life. She was a person. One of a kind and part of my life.

You can't compare those two things.

I agree that is a little biased, but you have to understand something. People find it easier to mourn the loss of a famous musician or actor, because they hold their music/movies close to their heart. If Rihanna died and a school was bombed in the same day, I would obviously mourn Rihanna's death more, since I love her (in the way that we love celebrities) and feel closer to her than a stranger. No death should be more important than another though, and what happened in Norway is just ****ing terrible and sad. I wish that nobody had to die. Don't be mad at people for mourning differently. Again, when a celebrity dies, people tend to feel more.

Again, 80 people lost your lives and you are pissed at me because YOU and the rest of you name calling me are worried about ONE life over 80 lifes?

RIP AMY. But I'm making a point here...

I'm deeply sorry Amy has passed away and by this thread I'm not attacking the memory of her. I just find it sad that we overlook things as Americans.

I completely agree with you. Amy's music did influence alot of people's lives, and people felt a "connection" with her. We (as music listeners) followed her along during the journey of her career, all the way to the end.
