I haven't really read the book for LOTR but the movies affected me to a whole nether level. Everything related to fantasy/medieval genre or book to film adaptations after the Trilogy or specifically, Return of the King, became **** to my eyes or average-looking. I wanted Harry Potter to prove me wrong till the end of the series, but alas it did not. I guess it only make sense as HP can't easily be adapted to a movie with the length of the books. I still remain with the thinking that series is most iconic during Philosopher's Stone. It's probably the only film of the series that could actually go on becoming a classic. I still love the last film but it cannot top Prisoner of Azkaban/Goblet of Fire if we're talking about artistry and being cohesive all around in terms of plot or direction. There's just something about the latter half of the series being unsatisfactorily IMO.
