Oversinging is something people like Christina Aguilera do--vocal gymnastics/acrobatics/etc. And for some reason, people seem to think that oversinging=singing loudly. Incorrect. When you hold a note with your chest voice and sustain it with power in belt mode... That's not oversinging. That's simply singing with power. And it's quite difficult to do. Just because you don't like someone singing loudly doesn't mean that it's not good singing, it just might not be your cup of tea--but that doesn't make it any less special. Oh, and for the record, singing loundly with a vibrato is NOT screaming. When you scream, you can't generate a vibrato. Just an FYI.
Leona is a great singer, but I prefer Nicole for her unabashed versatility. Nicole can sing ballads, midtempos, and uptempo numbers. Leona absolutely cannot, because of her incredibly lazy vibrato in lower register. Quite simply, Leona lacks the vocal dexterity that Nicole has in spades. Nicole can bounce around notes and keys without the slightest hitch; Leona can't do that unless she's singing in head voice or in her very high chest voice. Leona might have more range, but not by much. The thing that really separates her from Nicole is her limited access to the whistle register--although I haven't seen evidence that Nicole herself can't sing in the whistle register.
