I wish Asian American/Native American studies were mandatory. <_<

This is absolutely necessary, much like African-American history is necessary in social studies classes. This is all about spreading awareness of the fight for civil rights that gay Americans have gone through and continue to go through to this day. And most of the intolerance towards gays stems from sheer ignorance. Having children learn that the GLBT community is no different from any other people will only lead to a safer environment for gay kids to learn.
