Have your parents always supported your goals or do/did you feel forced to do certain things because of your parents opinions?

I told my mom i wanna be a **** star and she siad i better **** tha **** out of them too. I don't wanna be one anymore tho,i was like 14 back and i thought tha $1000.00 i'd get for a month was hella money. Child,boo,today $1000 can't pay half of tha bills

At first they actually didnt supported me but when they saw that i actually have talent in music, now yes

Sometimes I'm forced on what they want me to do in my life but I know that they only want me to do what they want because it's what's best for me.

But sometimes they agree with me. They should be! I'm not a kid anymore that's why they know that I should be myself more often.

HA NO. My dad STILL wants me to be a minister, and I'm like 'erm hell no,' but he wont stop. He leaves me brochures in my room for these schools that specialize in it...

No I told them that after I graduate I would like to attend a school in Los Angeles, but they want me to stay home and go to a community college like my sister.

They don't give a damn just as long as I'm not living with them when I'm 25+.

Oh wow, I was JUST crying and carrying on about this a few minutes ago about how I get no support from my family with college.

I just told my mom how I was thinking of volunteering for the Peace Corps in the balkans(Ukraine, Romania, etc) area and I told her its a 27 month program were you dont get paid a lot and she told me its a waste of 2 years and what happened to my plans of Law school. Its like bitch, I dont care about money I dont think people around me understand im not all about the money.
I told her
"Why do you think me joining the peace corps is a waste of time, what have you done the past 2 years of your life thats so much more special"

We got into a fight but she needs to learn that what she wants isnt what I want

Yeah, they've always been pretty supportive about whatever direction we want to take as long as it's not flat-out stupid.

We grew up poor - my parents just cared if we made it through school, got good, financially stable jobs and stayed the hell out of trouble.
Surprise surprise, two of us are college grads, make really good money and the last one is graduating this December. They're really surprised and proud. They support us 100 percent.

I actually did not know what I wanted to do before 12th grade. I was kind of a trouble maker/pain in the ass during junior high and if you woulda told me I was gonna go to college back then, I woulda laughed.
