Infinite Challenge slaying the competition

MP3 download in South Korea is dominated by monthly subscription (think eMusic/mTraks but cheaper).

Pay $7 a month and you get 50 MP3 to download. Pay $11-12 a month and you get 150 MP3 to download.





The closest thing in American music is mTraks but it's only for indie music and all in MP3 format.

Ala carte is about $0.50 but if you pay a monthly subscription, it can cost a lot less.

Korea is a huge music market and mediabase never counts them. Avril has sold over 2 million songs there this year alone

I just can't believe this Infinite Challenge stuff made T-ara lose their chance of getting their 2nd #1 hit. I'm pissed off now.

Well, then the #1 would be 464K, and that's a lot for a country that isn't even in the top 10 music markets worldwide

In other word, not very big. But it's growing each year for the last few years while in most countries, music revenue decline every year.

I think they mean that the #1 single is part of a triple-a side single. So Infinite Challenge released three official singles which in the US would be a single and two b-sides. Which might chart on iTunes alone.

I know that's common in Japan, where an artist is going to release a single but three different ones come out the same day and score a shitton of cash. Right?
