This is the first time I've heard of this kind of event though, so sad.

I think it's more harmful than mixing it with soda, because energy drinks **** with your blood pressure and everything.

But, that's why I drink it like that. It gets you drunk faster and you feel alot more, in my opinion. The hangovers are terrible, though. It is really sad that children are dying due to their curiosity.

Sad story, but wow, some of you guys are so naive and uneducated about drinking.
Because she drank the vodka with soda isn't what killed her. Soda is served with liquor at every bar across the nation. The mixer you choose (whether it be soda, juice, etc.) does not matter.
The causes of alcohol poisoning all depend on how much liquor you drink, combined with your height, weight, how much food you ate, medication you're on, or any other health factors. The soda is not what killed her.
I hope some of you in here stay far away from alcohol, cause you're clearly educated in consuming it.

I agree, it had nothing to do with what she mixed it with. It's all about how much alcohol she used. And since it was a mixed drink, I'm assuming that she didn't know the proper portions to use, considering this was likely her first time using alcohol. But still, I'm wondering if she possibly had a heart, blood, or brain condition prior to the incident, because I know of many 12-14 year olds who have gone through more than half of a bottle of vodka and survived. Also, I'm wondering if they stopped at just alcohol. There could have been drugs involved.
