So I've been requesting a lot of different songs lately, and such, and had a question about it.

1. When you request through mediabase, does it automatically play the song, or is it literally like a request, and they don't have to play?
2. If the above answer is: no they don't have to play it, then is requesting really efficient?
3. Let's say requesting IS efficient, are there certain times in the day I should request, so songs get better AI? Cause i like requesting at night when i have time to kill, and think that if the song is played then would it essentially be pointless?

If anyone can answer any of these that would be great

I don't think it would automatically be played. Radio stations usually have a playlist already set up and would most likely squeeze in the requested song if they were to actually play it.

1. It's just like if you were to call in and request. They will take your request, but they already have a set playlist. They'll try to squeeze the songs with the most requests in somewhere. They also use request data to make playlists for later dates.

2. Requesting does work. It just has to be kept going because it takes a while for it to take effect. "Untouched" by The Veronicas is a song that actually started to break thanks to requests.

3. Really, any time of day is okay for requests. Like I said, stations will already have a set playlist for the day, so they'll just squeeze in the request whenever they can, which could be minutes or hours from the time you actually requested it.
