I explained to you before, that during the 90s when Clinton was president TAXES WERE HIGH and we HAD A SURPLUS OF MONEY not a DEFICIT. Obama actually needs to raise taxes being that they are the lowest they've been since the 80s(even lower than Bish).

Of course you cannot eliminate taxes! Just remember we have progressive tax -the more $$ u make, the higher % you pay. some folks pay over 50% of their paychecks. Some people get a raise, and then end up taking home less money b/c they're in a higher tax bracket.
Kudos to my Governor, who wants drug testing for those who get free checks from us tax payers. Also, he is asking folks who collect unemployment checks, to volunteer for their community 4hrs per month.

i am extremely happy you are doing well, but you are not everyone. Thankfully, you are prob still in your home. Cost of living is very high especially if you have kids and plan college for them & you want your kids to live the American dream. You know life is all shades of grey, there are always exceptions & Bush was certainly not a poster child for conservative spending. You cannot defend bad behavior by showing other bad behavior. Irresponsible spending is BAD b/c Bush did it & also b/c Obama is doing it. We have to step up sometime!! Why not now?

They ignore the fact that the Bush tax cuts have not shrunk government spending. The tax cuts instead have increased the budget deficit, and reduced national saving. We went from having a 5.6 trillion SURPLUS when Clinton was in office to having a out of hand deficit durng the Bush years. Making the Bush tax cuts permanent, as the republicans and tea party members are calling for, would bring the total cost through 2016 to $6 trillion, including interest. Rather than making fiscally unsustainable tax cuts permanent, let us remember that taxes are collected for a reason: to provide vital public services such as a strong defense, homeland security, healthcare, retirement and income security, education and training, and disaster relief.
