JLS deny copying Jennifer Lopez's track "On the Floor"
The pop group's new single, 'She Makes me Wanna', features the line "LA to Africa," which is also used in Jennifer Lopez' recent hit 'On the Floor' - but the band's Aston Merrygold says even though both tracks were produced by the same person ' Redone - the lyrics are entirely coincidental.
Speaking at the grand opening of the London M&M'S World store, in Leicester Square, he said: "It's so funny, basically, we came up with it ourselves, because they never use Africa in songs, so we did it, then it happened that Redone said, 'well - I've already used that lyric!'"
The boy band - which also includes Marvin Humes, Jonathan 'JB' Gill and Oritse Williams ' feature female rapper Dev on the track, said they were keen to work with her after she "blew up" in the US when she worked with the Far East Movement and Kanye West.
Marvin explained: "We wanted a female rapper, and Dev was suggested. She is very, very hot right now, so, it made sense for us to get her in really.
"She has totally blown up in the States right now, she has just done a song with Kanye West, and obviously 'Like a G6' was massive last year. She is a massive, massive talent out there."
The group also performed at the opening celebration ceremony of the four floor M&M'S World store, which was initiated today (06.07.11) by Mayor of London Boris Johnson.
RedOne's gotten so generic after his hits with Gaga. I'm glad his songs on Born This Way weren't generic though. (Schieße, Hair, and Judas sound nothing alike and like nothing on the radio.) His electronic sound is so mainstream now that he is making Just Dance derivatives with the same electropop party anthem sound and sadly that music is selling like hotcakes. I wish he would be branch out more. I really hope he doesn't become another Dr. Luke.

Mmm, he's already a Dr. Luke Because :
- Judas = Bad Romance
- recycled beats from old song
- if you listen "Schieße" with attention, the synth used is the same from "Pop Ate My Heart" and that song is from..3 years ago i think.
This is my thought too
Anyway her verse has got to be one of the worst I have heard in ages, she completely runis the song, I actually laugh on how stupid it is when it comes on
For people coming at RedOne, like are you ****ing for real?! most producers recycle, it's what people want and buy these days

I have to disagree. Speaking strictly of the production, Judas is completely different from Bad Romance. The songs are similar, but the production is very different, which is what RedOne is responsible for.
And Pop Ate My Heart isn't really a song...and it really doesn't sound much like Schieße. I don't care if he recycles minor noises and incorporates them into different songs so that the songs end up sounding very different...I just care that the same synthesizer, party anthem electro sound that made Just Dance a hit is being rehashed over and over in his songs now. I guess I can't blame him, because that sound is what's "current" right now...but it's awfully generic and unoriginal. Even On the Floor's hook is a direct ripoff of several other songs (Lambada and a few others).
