It's obvious that we have tons of members around the world, hence the several language threads. The commonly spoken language on this forum is English. So tell me how did you learn English? Did you take a class? Did a friend teach you? Are you a native English speaker like myself? Or are you still using Google Translate to figure out what I'm saying right now?
Ever since I was in kindergarten, I was in a private bilingual school. Most of the classes were in English, the ones that were in Spanish was Spanish and ****... I've had that kind of bilingual education since then. High school was bilingual, too. College isn't. You learn your major in your mother tongue, but I practice here and watching movies and series without subtitles. I'm kind of forgetting about grammar, tho.
I think it's in general not easy to learn a language..but IMO it's easier to learn English than French or Spanish..I learn French now for 4 years and I don't speak it half as good as English... I think forums like this, reading books or watching movies in English instead of you native language helps a lot...I guess I still have to learn a lot
oh and the most fun way to learn English is to read / translate lyrics
I learned listening music but i'm not that good at it (I thought) but sometimes I don't know how to explain myself, but yes, i'm moving to NY next year so I've to learn english, music helped a lot.
