At the end of the day and regardless of the poll results, Teenage Dream will be regarded as a pop album with very successful singles, while Thriller will always be considered one of the best albums of all-time. After this year, I bet we won't hear much about TD. It'll be mention as much as Forever Your Girl, and that's the true Arizona.
And this is why ATRLers' opinions will never be taken serious.
This is beyond lame, ignorant and delusional, at least the poll votes are public so that they expose themselves.
Both albums are great, Michaels is Iconic. Years down the road, maybe Katy's pop masterpiece will be recognized as well. Sales will never compare, but it deserves some credit. Michaels, however, is a modern day masterpiece that has stood the test of time. Everything on it was single material and it works even today! Teenage Dream is catchy and fun
This poll is all based on opinions and preferences. If someone likes Katy Perry's Teenage Dream (Pop) than Michael Jackson's Thriller (R&B), than so be it.
It's like some rocker dude telling me "Who do you like better: Aerosmith or Rihanna" and I say Rihanna. He'll say "HOW DARE YOU! AEROSMITH IS A LEGEND, ICONIC ROCK BAND, SOLD OVER 150 MILLION ALBUMS WORLDWIDE, 60 MILLION IN THE U.S, FOUR GRAMMY WINS, ETC". And your point...? I don't listen to rock. I'm not into that, I like pop-dance genre.
I could only see Teenage Dream equate to Bad for its single success. But if you compared it to Thriller, not so much, the sales of Thriller just blew the competition off. Even the critic's reviews is on Thriller's side. An 8 Grammy win for Thriller seals the final nail in the coffin for Teenage Dream
