---> ˇˇˇDaily Movie Reviews!!! <---
Since I have seen almost every movie that has come out in theaters since May of 2004, I will start a movie review section starting from the beginning of the new season. These are all mainstream movies that are in theaters. Then I will rate them, and if you've seen them, please post like how many stars out of 5 you will give it. I will start with the first week of September 2005.
Please note that these reviews are all in my words, I did not take them from a professional movie critic.
Underclassman (Released September 2nd, 2005)
Starring: Nick Cannon
Simple Synopsis:
Nick Cannon stars as a 23/24 year old cop that was born with a dad who is a well known detective. Sound familiar yet? Just wait and see. Nick Cannon, playing Trey Stokes, drop out in the last semester as a senior in High School. Trey dreams to be a great detective like his father, who died on work, so when there is a job for car stealers at a private high school, there's no way he can NOT have the job... right? Trey must beg his boss for the job until he gets it. At school he meets a guy who seems all nice and smart and athletic. But is this really the case?- I really would recommend this movie just because of the laughs and the chemistry with all the characters. But the story line is not all that great so I give it 2 1/2 Stars.

Transporter 2 (Released September 2nd, 2005)
Starring: Jason Statham
Simple Synopsis:
Jason Statham stars once again as 'The Transporter'. In the sequel Jason plays Frank who is out to find the person who is in charge of trying to poison a woman's son. The woman played by Amber Valletta is in a very tough relationship with her husband played by Matthew Modine, who is a governor and is extremely popular. Audrey (Amber) believes her husband's job is the reason her son was targeted. At the beginning of the movie we learn that Frank is a driver for Audrey's son named Jack. Jack is injected with the poison when he goes to the hospital and we also learn that whoever breathes in the poison is also affected. That means the boy's mom is infected, and so is the dad. So do you know what's coming next?? A search to find the cure!!! Let's go mates! No. We are taken through a thrill ride of action sequences that really forms the rest of the movie. In my opinion, the sequel is better than the first one . This movie has more action, more plot and more chemistry between the characters. And I recommend it for that. But don't come crying back if you don't like it because I didn't say you'd like the story, I said you'd like the action. So I give this movie two stars.

Exorcism Of Emily Rose (Released September 9th, 2005)
Starring: Laura Linney, Tom Wilkinson, & Jennifer Carpenter
Simple Synopsis:
If you haven't seen any reviews or previews on this movie, then you must be living under a rock. This is one of the BEST movies of the new season so far. At the beginning of the movie, we see a scene where Emily Rose dies (played by Jennifer Carpenter). Father Moore (played by Tom Wilkinson) is arrested at the house. Why did Emily Rose die? Was it because of the exorcism? Should Emily have been kept on medication? Was this a medical disease? Or was it Father Moore's fault for taking her off of the medicine and starting the exorcism? Did the devils kill Emily? It's a very debatable and disturbing topic that is very untouched. You can have your own opinion on it, but what happened in the movie, happened in real life. Laura Linney plays Father Moore's attorney. She and everyone else in the court are very unsure of what to believe. Are devils real? Possibly? This movie was very good because unlike other horror flicks, this movie focused mainly on the story. Almost the whole movie took place IN court. The movie trailer is very deceiving. There are a few wise crack scary moments, but really we are shown what happened to Emily according to two sides, government and religion. That is what this movie comes down to, and that's what I really liked. It had a whole point to it. It wasn't so much gory, it was just an interesting topic that I think everyone would enjoy. But you might NOT like it, for it is a slow movie and you must be very interested to like it. I did... so I'm giving it 3 1/2 stars.

I'm really curious to see what would happen to a person living the way Emily Rose did, so I would watch this movie out of curiousity!

^That movie definitely sounds very interesting! I like the thought of movies based more on story without tons of special effects and violence nowadays, where the characters really have to work for their money so to speak. I have nothing against big blockbuster types that have great chracters and plot too, it's just refreshing to see or hear of one like this, e.g. like when detective stories and scop shows got all violence and action based and then came Columbo as well as Ironside
But anyway, great reviews
Has anyone seen Tim Burton's 'The Corpse Bride' yet?

No Pandora, I'm reviewing that one this weekend
next review coming up now!
The Man (Released September 9th, 2005)
Starring: Eugene Levy & Samuel L. Jackson
Simple Synopsis:
I don't know what to say about this movie. The plot is this. A dentist from Milwaukee is VERY geeky (Eugene Levy). He travels to LA for a speech that he is been very nervous about making for a while, EVEN THOUGH, he has practiced it a million times and has memorized it. On the other side of town, in LA, Samuel L. Jackson, who plays a cop, decides to get into a drug-dealing relationship with a man so he can, in the end, arrest him for his wrong-doing. The plan was to go into the diner and get a gun and a cell phone to call the drug-dealer on it, but a mistaken identity gets Eugene Levy into some hot water that he didn't want to. When Eugene Levy walked into the diner, the drug-dealer confusingly mistaked Eugene Levy for who was supposed to be Samuel L. Jackson. Now we have ourselves a story! Walking out of the diner, we see Samuel L. Jackson drive up in his car and he walks into the diner seeing Eugene Levy with the gun from the bag in his hand! He soon realizes that the gun was for him and that is how the story starts. This movie is another cop-civilian buddy movie but it's too funny to even think about how highly unoriginal this flick is so I'm giving it two stars. I hope you understand this review. Please tell me so I can clarify it further for you.

An Unfinished Life (Released September 9nd, LIMITED, September 16th, 2005 WIDE)
Starring: Jennifer Lopez, Morgan Freeman, Robert Redford
Simple Synopsis:
To put it in words: this is Jennifer Lopez's only good movie, and the best by far . She plays a woman who got married at age nineteen and had a baby. We soon find out that her husband and her got in a car crash. He died, she survived, WITH THE BABY. This messes up everyone's lives, including Robert Redford's life, who was Jennifer Lopez's father-in-law, (her dead husband's dad). While living in Kansas, Jennifer Lopez, 12 years later with her daughter, is having a tough relationship with her so-called boyfriend. He hits her, and he hit her so much that she just had to leave. So she left and told everyone where she was going, but told them not to tell the angry ex-boyfriend where she went. Can you guess where she went with her daughter?... to Wyoming to live with her father-in-law. While arriving at his house, which was a major struggle seeing that her car broke down. But anyways, she took a bus to her father-in-law's city and walked the rest of the way to his ranch. When she saw him, he majorly disapproved of her being there. He thinks that she killed his son. Are you crying already like I am? But he hadn't realized that she brought his unknown granddaughter with her. He was very surprised of knowing he was a grandpa. Jennifer Lopez must hide throughout the movie from her ex-boyfriend. There was also a sub-story that involved Morgan Freeman, as if you thought the story couldn't get any better. A year earlier, Robert Redford was looking for someone to work on his farm, so he hired Morgan Freeman. But on the farm one day, there happened to be a bear that to a chunk of skin right off of Morgan's face. So Morgan lays ill in his house. He can't ever feed himself, get around by himself, or even give himself the medication he needs. Robert Redford takes care of him because they have an intimate relationship. And that's exactly what I loved about this movie. Everyone liked everyone in this movie. They all ended up getting along in the end, which isn't really a give away (doy, what did you think was going to happen? There's not going to be a sequel...). They all love each other and live the way they do because it's just life. Life is life, and if it's good don't change it. And if it's bad, try to improve it for everybody. I give 4 1/2 stars to this movie. It's so great. Go see it!

It reminds me of 'Enough' to an extent, I didn't see that but it did look interesting. I'm not keen on her or Robert Redford though and at the moment I prefer good (not slapstick or trashy) comedies
Lol I liked your last few lines, about there not being a sequel and trying to improve life for others.

those are cool reviews, but I can't see much of your appreciation on them, just the stars.
anyway, I watch like 3 movies per week, most of them old classic dvd's . and I go to the movies once per week. next monday I'm gonna go and see "red eye". I'm pretty excited cuz it actually looks like a very good thriller, and it got good reviews overall.

Cry Wolf (Released September 16th, 2005)
Starring: Jared Padalecki, Lindy Booth, Julian Morris, Kristy Wu, Sandra McCoy, Ethan Cohn, & Jesse Janzen
Simple Synopsis:
A movie taking place on a college campus is always interesting. Especially when you think of past thrillers such as 'Scream' & 'Scream 2', both involving college kids. But this movie has a different bam! to it that made it great. The movie with six main characters has a lot of twists and turns... but it all makes sense in the end. The tagline of the movie is 'the whole point is to lie'. Well that's exactly what this movie is about. The movie kicks off with a young college man played by Jared Padalecki, who has a past of being accused of killing a girl, who is transferring schools to the new private school. There he meets Dodger, played by Lindy Booth. In that scene you can just tell that they have chemistry. The transfer's roomate Owen, played by Julian Morris, wakes him up at night and they go to the cathedral to play a game that's been a tradition for while between these six friends. They are: Dodger, Owen, Regina played by Kristy Wu, Mercedes played by Sandra McCoy, Graham played by Ethan Cohn, and Randall played by Jesse Janzen. All the friends would donate money to the pot.
"It's a lying game... there are 5 sheeps and 1 wolf". The wolf would have a mark on their stomach signifying that they're the wolf. "The whole point is for the wolf to make it to the end without getting caught." If the wolf makes it to the end without getting caught, it will get the money. And so the game actually makes up the story, and in the end... will the wolf end up making it without getting caught? Find out in 'Cry Wolf'! I rate this movie a good 3 stars. It was really entertaining and I liked watching these young actors have a good time. They were also really believable with the sudden twist deep in the story.

The Greatest Game Ever Played (Sneak Peek September 17th, 2005, September 30th, 2005 WIDE)
Starring: Shia LaBeouf
Simple Synopsis:
The greatest ever played? No. The best movie ever? No. But this movie was really actually good just very unentertaining at times and it gets you sleeping for ten seconds during the movie. But when the movie gets started, it's really good. Shia LaBeouf (I barely can ever spell his last name right) plays Francis Ouimet, a boy who grows up with little except the love of his parents... and golf. One day when he was a little boy he went downtown to see his favorite professional golf player, Harry Vardon. Inspired, he starts to get better, and better, until he enters a tournament for amateurs. He and his dad made a deal that if he lost in the tournament, he would focus more on his studies, and little of none on golf. He was playing very well at first, but lost because of the loss of confidence and is considered 'a bad player' for a long time because of this mishap. Many years later when working at a golf shop, the head of the USGA (US Golf Association) comes into the shop and asks him if he would like to be a qualifier at the US Open. At first he stuters and decides not to, but he just couldn't resist not playing golf again so he went against his father's wishes and entered the tournament. Francis went on to win the tournament against his idol Harry Vardon in the final to become the first qualifier to win the US Open ever. This movie was based on a true story, and I loved the scenes in the movie where Francis would talk to Harry in the locker room and they would be very nice to each other. The movie I thought was about respect and it's awesome, so I'm giving it 4 stars.

Just Like Heaven (Released September 16th, 2005)
Starring: Mark Ruffalo, Reese Witherspoon, & John Heder
Simple Synopsis:
This movie is so simple and so cute that I just smile thinking about how good it was . Mark Ruffalo plays David, an alcoholic who was recently married but her wife had died leaving him as a widdow. On the other side of the story there's Reese Witherspoon, playing Elizabeth, who worked 26 hours straight at the hospital to stay at her job in San Francisco, CA, where her sister lives, as a doctor.
While driving home one day from work after being told to leave the hospital after getting the job promotion, Reese Witherspoon gets into a scary car crash and is in a coma. Don't let the previews deceive you... ELIZABETH IS NOT DEAD--I REPEAT ELIZABETH IS NOT DEAD. David had been looking for an apartment to live in, just to move out of the house that he and his wife had been living in. A paper flies on his face that happens to be Elizabeth's apartment... up for rent!!! So David moves into her apartment and on the first night of him staying there, he drinks lots of beers, so when he sees Elizabeth, he thinks he's hallucinating everything. But he's not. He is the only one that can see her, so it's kind of embarassing when he is sitting on a park bench talking to her, because actually at someone else's point of view, he is a strange man that talks to himself!! At first, David & Elizabeth didn't get along, so David went to a book store to talk to the spiritual employee Darryl, played by John Heder from Napoleon Dynamite. Darryl told him that he could feel the emotions of Elizabeth and how she was feeling. David & Elizabeth eventually get along throughout the the movie. But who will David be able to convince that Elizabeth is real a ghost. The only other person that can see her is Elizabeth's sister's four year old daughter, and that doesn't really help. For all everyone else knows, David is a crazy man who needs to go to a psychiatrist. At the end, it's a matter of seeing if her sister will keep her on life-support. Originally, Elizabeth said when she was alive that if she was ever seriously injured, she was against life support. But when her sister was questioned if Elizabeth were to be kept on life-support, she begged her to say "Yes! Keep me on life-support!", but her sister couldn't hear her... all she could do was listen. Her fate lay in the hands of a man who everyone thinks is crazy, and her sister, whom David, nor her (Elizabeth) can talk to. This loveable, fun, comedic, romantic comedy is perfect for Ruffalo, and in recent studies, many women that LOVE Mark, which almost every single woman does, would see any of his movies, whether good or bad. But it shouldn't make a difference in this movie because the movie is awesome. Go see it! I loved it - it definitely was money well spent. So I give this movie 4 stars.

^Wow, that sounds really good. I don't generally like the light hearted films Reece does and this is what that kind of looked like from the advertising but from your review it sounds abit deeper and more interesting. I definitely prefer her in more serious films and really moving characters because she's such a great actress. She plays both so well, serious vs light hearted and the light hearted films of hers have done better, hence it seems sometimes she doesn't get the credit she deserves. But this movie sounds like a good medium .
