Joe Rogan, who hosted NBC’s Fear Factor for six seasons from 2001 to 2006 during its initial run, has signed on to return for the series’ upcoming revival.
“It doesn’t seem real,” he told TV Guide. “It seems like some sort of bizarro dream world. But I’m looking forward to it. The idea of sitting at home and watching someone else host it would have driven me crazy.
“What I brought to Fear Factor the first time I hope to bring to it again – a background in competitive athletics along with being a standup comedian. This show is tailor-made for me.”
Executive producer Matt Kunitz stressed the importance of Rogan’s return for Fear Factor’s resurrection, clarifying that he never considered extending an offer to anyone else.
