I would love this as an original composition. I loathe this as a remix. I think the vocal was poorly utilized (essentially this is a dub mix, and I don't think that treatment is particularly effective well-known pop tracks which survive in the clubs based on the familiarity of their vocals), and in general, there's just a bit too much of a disconnect between original track and this remix.
And while we're here, I hate this ridiculous movement within dance (I blame house producers, but it's trickled over into various offshoot genres) music where producers put all this effort into creating fabulous buildups, only to underwhelm with a non-melodious, bass-driven, farty sounding, section right when the track should really take off. All the momentum is killed and I immediately check out. Why even bother including the IWG chorus vocal on the buildup if you aren't going to give us the ultimate payoff where vocal meets peaktime beats and well-developed melodies? I get it, guys! You want to avoid formulaic/traditional song structure, but six or seven years into this well-established trend and your attempts to avoid the predictable have become entirely predictable. Mission failed.
