So far I have not seen a thread for any relating to The Mortal Instruments or the movie they are making for it. So here's a thread.
My threads are usually inevitable flops...so I'm sorry, my fellow Shadowhunters, for the kiss of death I have planted on this thread.
Anywhoo. So far the two main characters have been casted.
Lily Collins will play Clary Fray
and Jamie Campbell Bower will (as much as it utterly pains me to say this) play....Jace...Wayland
Anyways, the story, in case ya'll haven't read the book, is basically about a girl, Clary, who witnesses a killing only to find out that the killing was done by two Shadowhunters and the person they killed was actually a demon. She then finds out that Shadowhunters are demon-killers. So later, her mom tells her that they need to go on vacation and Clary gets upset and storms out of the house because she had summer plans and her mom can't just force her to leave and blah blah blah. When she's out, she reunites with one of the Shadowhunters, Jace, and he goes with her to her house only to find that it's been ransacked and her mom is gone. Then she finds out that her mom was a Shadowhunter and was keeping Clary in the dark to protect her and
apparently the evil "Valentine" that everyone keeps talking about (who evidently kidnapped her mother) is actually Clary's father
to which she finds out that she's a shadowhunter too. Then she finds out that Jace, who she falls in love with during this time,
is actually her brother
which makes things kind of awkward. Then in the next couple of books, a lot of bad ass fighting happens and even the annoying characters make themselves useful (such as her best friend Simon who I absolutely hated until he...
became a vampire
) Oh gosh. I'm getting off topic. Back to book 1. Okay, so they have to find this Mortal Cup because Valentine plans to use it to create a new evil army of Shadowhunters or something. And there's a lot of action and demon killing and vampires and werewolves and faeries and warlocks and cool stuff. Ya'll should read the book.
My explanation was absolutely terrible. Please read the book synposis online if you don't want to get severely confused.
So yeah. No more news on the cast thus far. But, just like I'm trying to on my Hunger Games thread, I'll keep ya'll posted.

So what do you guys think about the casting so far?
I think it's an epic failure. They better not **** Alec up...
