I'm sure she'll be nominated, but my money is on Adele winning. She could be a strong contender for Best Female Pop Vocal, Song of the Year, and Record of the Year if she plays her cards right.

Adele
Krauss
Gaga
Radiohead
Kanye
Possibly a substitution of Taylor for Krauss.

I don't think GaGa will be nominated. The reviews have not been that great as I expected, even a reputable reviewer that the industry hold to high standards ignore it and praised Beyonce's 4...

No more Female Pop. It's Pop Solo Performance. They slashed a lot of categories this year.

Yes, but not this time around. Single Ladies had too much of a big impact. They should of known most of the times whatever song wins Song of the year, goes on to win ROTY. I'm still pissed at Matthew.

I doubt it, and I agree with Sats when he said "sales don't matter", but overall commercial success and impact does, if that isn't the case explain to me how Teenage Dream, The End,and I Am....Sasha Fierce, none of which were critical darlings...all got Album of the Year nods.
She has a good crtical backing, but if she can't susatin the albums success throughout the next year or so, I can see her getting relegated to the non-general fields. But, they do often times like to throw in 1 or 2 non- blockbuster albums.

Sales are often a factor though, even if they technically shouldn't be. See the best-selling album of 2009 winning in 2010. Reviews are also a factor, and Adele's album has gotten really great reviews.
The fact that Adele managed to get three General Field noms (and winning one, as well as Female Pop Vocal) when she was a nobody speaks wonders. I think she has it in the bag.
|
And see 2010 when Arcade Fire won, that makes your argument invalid. Taylor had good reviews as well, and this is Beyonce most critically acclaimed album of her career, her score is actually close to be just as high as Adeles at the moment.

,No, she would have won. Because "Single Ladies" won Song of The Year. The song that wins SOTY end up winning ROTY most of the time.

I know, but I see why he did it. She could have broken the mold.

WOW! I didn't know they got rid of that one too. I still think she'll get a nom in the category with the right song.

What are you talking about? Gaga got great reviews for her album. Its Metacritic score and Beyoncé's are only one point apart and Gaga's score would be a few points higher if an extremely unprofessional review were not counted. You need to sit because you clearly don't know what you're talking about.

Its also cute seeing yall thinking yall now ANYTHING about the Grammys. Just because an album was acclaimed does not mean it will win or sweep the awards. Adele is gonna get about 5 nominations in pop & general at most. Her album was based by some of the same people that based '4' and praised mostly by UK REVIEWERS!
Kanye will be lucky if he even gets nominated since the world has forgotten about his album already!
Mark my words, im usually right about these things, and we go through this EVERY YEAR!

I think that's why she won Song of the Year which was a surprise. Single Ladies would have took ROTY easily, imo.

Metacritic smh. Check Rated R - it's nearly as high as Adele's. Yet no nominations.... who really knows. But I see it being nominated no doubt.

She should submit "I Miss " or "I Was Here".

Since when does one counter-example make an argument invalid? He's right, sales do have a bearing on the outcome of AOTY though obviously not always. Beyonces reviews have been surprisingly good (at least a fair amount better than all her other albums) but I still see Adele taking it (if NARAS wants viewers) or maybe Kanye (if NARAS wants to choose the best album)

Gaga as 31 reviews and a negative one.
Beyonce has 25, no negatives, and about 5 positives left to be added in!
