I still don't understand this...If "Deuces", "Yeah 3X" or "Beautiful People" smashed I wouldn't be surprised - those songs are good.....but this??? When I heard it for the first time I thought: "Oh Chris WTF is this? This will flop like hell" ...and it smashed + it is gaining awards

i just do not understand the whole adele thing! i mean its a good song, but no way AMAZING or song of the year.

What are you talking about? Firework deserved to smash. It is arguably the most successful song since I Gotta Feeling.
If you haven't noticed yet this thread is based on opinion so I really don't give a **** if it was the biggest smash since Celine Dion and Elton John teamed up for their rendition of Something about the way my Heart will go on tonight. Your post was useless.
And California Gurls too. It's a dead boring and derivative Tik Tok ripoff that's just kind of there without any sort of power. And Firework is a uncatchy strainfest. Not hating on Katy because TD and ET are amazing pop songs but why those other 2 are her most successfull songs this era I will never understand.
