Cars was a mess to begin with. I knew a sequel would be a bigger mess. Literally every other franchise would have been a better choice to make a sequel for.
I thought it was going to be amazing, maybe even better than the first.. not even close. It was a huge mess. The fact that they did all the stuff over again doesn't bother me, because that was the purpose of the film anyway, there would be no point to do another film if it were for any other reason than repeat the moments- but all the jokes were just, not funny at all. I only chuckled a few times, nothing was laugh-out-loud funny.
That'll probably be the same thing for Cars 2. I know that on Disney Channel they did a few 'Cars' shorts that were like 5 minutes long or something, they could've post this stupid superhero cars plot into a 5 minute thing.. not drag it out into a whole movie. Really unnecessary and this is basically just to make more products and merchandise so they can get more money.. and now they just upset all the fans of their films. 'Cars' was decent (though the first time I wanted to leave the theater), but now that they created a clone of it.. they just made it bigger and worse.
At least the Hangover 2 was funny and I enjoyed it.
Cars wasn't funny the first time around so I know there aren't any cheap laughs in this movie.
I stan so hard for Pixar so I'll be seeing this regardless, I never miss any of their movies, but I' very disappointed.
I saw it today, and it was so ****ing cheesy.
That said, I am also cheesy because I liked it, better than the first.
It wasn't as good as other Pixar movies (but better than the first Cars) and there was too much of a focus on Mater, but it was a good movie overall.
