And that is my BIGGEST issue with it. Someone one day decided to tell me as a child than a man named Jesus died for me a long time ago and I believed it. Now, I still do believe in God and Jesus but I cant help but to question my faith because I have a very low percentage of it left. The older I get the more and more I think about how this sounds like a fairytale meant to scare people into having a conscious and behaving so they wont go to "hell". And it was a brilliant story to tell because its caused more pain and suffering than any other single event in history.
If the world went down today and I was the last man standing with nothing but another woman I could make up any story I wanted to and spread it around the new world and no one would know anything because humans dont think for themselves, they want reassurance from a higher power and so they believe whatever helps them sleep at night because theyve been doing dirt and dont wanna feel guilty for it.

Exactly!  Black people were (and still are today) murdered and forced to suffer because people thought they were abominations, but gay people also went through the same thing (and still are today). The difference is, you won't read about a gay person being murdered in your history book, seeing as most people didn't care about it back then, and saw them as nothing more than a "pervert". In fact, my grandfather told me that his grandfather and uncles used to go out on "***" hunts, and would see how many they could have hanging from the tree by midnight, or something to that effect. It's disturbing that people would do that. It's just as bad as those bogus witch trials, if not worse.
At the end of the day, homophobia and racism are no different. Both are breeding hate.
