If he does not produce a "The Black Album" or a "My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy" or at least a "Tha Carter II" from this last album...

He was in the Gifted Program in school, too. He's very smart.

I don't believe that he will actually retire. Many, MANY artists have said this before, and it's usually just to hype up their album. If they think it is his absolute last album, it will sell like crazy. But he'll come back in a year or two and deem it as his "comeback".

While he is arguably one of the biggest rappers of the past 5 years, he doesn't know how to be consistent with his music. His "rock" album was a big mess. And he keeps promising to add to the "Tha Carter" series, but he hasn't yet. He should have focused on "Tha Carter IV" right after he finished promoting the "Tha Carter III" album. Instead, he decided he was going to be a rockstar, which didn't work out for him. And then, of course, he went to prison. While "I Am Not A Human Being" was a decent album, it was nowhere near his best. Let's hope that all of the hype surrounding "Tha Carter IV" leads up to an amazing album, otherwise I don't see myself or many other people supporting him.
